Radio Moscow broadcast a live programme on Vietnam’s land and people on November 23 with the participation of journalists and Vietnamese correspondents.

The programme gave a brief introduction about Vietnam’s glorious history in its past struggle for national independence. Participants also discussed Vietnam’s current developments, the country’s key issues and how the Party and State policies benefit people’s lives.

Russian listeners phoned in to the studio to ask questions about the relations between Vietnam and other countries, what Vietnamese people think about Russia and its people, as well as Vietnam’s cooperation policies towards traditional countries such as Cuba and Russia.

After the programme, Igor Trubais, director and host of the programme, said they chose Vietnam as the topic because many Russian people, particularly old people, are interested in Vietnam. For them, Vietnam has established important relations with Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin who recently came back from his Vietnam visit said the two countries have a bright future for cooperation.

This is the first time Radio Moscow had broadcast a 45-minute programme on Vietnam.
