The conference attracted more than 600 delegates, including senior government officials of Asian countries, representatives of major companies and scholars from 17 regional economies.

Speaking at the event, Minister Hai said that the Vietnamese government was determined to integrate into the global economy and accelerate economic reforms.

At a meeting with Asia Society President Vishakha Desai held on the sidelines of the conference, Minister Hai praised the Asia Society for its active role in strengthening Vietnam-US relations and asked the society to continue to support the two countries' cooperation in education and human resources training.

Minister Hai also held meetings with representatives from major Japanese firms and Asia Society members which are currently operating or planning to establish business in Vietnam.
