The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has conferred its 7th annual award on two Vietnamese officials for their contributions to JICA’s international cooperative activities in Vietnam.

The awardees were Vo Hong Phuc, former Minister of Planning and Investment (MPI), and Ho Quang Minh, former Head of the Foreign Economic Relations Department under the MPI.

Vietnam has been recognized as one of the countries most successful in attracting and effectively utilizing the official development assistance (ODA) resources by the donor community.

In Vietnam, the Japanese government’s ODA contributes to not only the promotion of economic growth but also environmental protection, poverty reduction and public-private link.
