Local youth began construction on 16 water wells in the districts of Ninh Phuoc, Ninh Hai, Thuan Bac and Phan Rang-Thap Cham city in the southern province of Ninh Thuan on May 12.

When completed, the wells will provide 16 hamlets (between 50-300 households) with fresh water.

The wells measure 1.5-3 metres in diameter and 6-10 metres in depth. Each costs between VND8-10 million.

Funds were donated by American-Vietnamese Phan Huy.
