Vietnam, Estonia hold political consultation
VOV.VN -Vietnam and Estonia held a first round of political consultations on December 6 in Hanoi, discussing the complex of bilateral relations including the interaction within the UN and other international organizations such as UNESCO, the UN Human Rights Council, and ASEM.
The Undersecretary for External Economic Policy and Development Cooperation Affairs Väino Reinart headed the delegation of Estonia while Bui Thanh Son led the Vietnam delegation.
Both sides discussed current state and perspective directions of developing cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.
They expressed mutual interest in expanding multilateral relations, taking into account significant potential and realization of joint projects in priority spheres for both Vietnam and Estonia.
At the consultation, the officials paid great attention to issues of expanding bilateral legal framework for cooperation. In addition, they discussed matters related to visa exemptions for diplomatic and official passport holders.
Mr Reinart said Estonia supports Vietnam’s stance on handling disputes including those in the East Sea by peaceful solutions in accordance with international laws and ensuring security and maritime safety and freedom of navigation of the high seas.
