78 percent of 146 businesses surveyed believed that Vietnam’s economy will be better this year while only 1 percent expressed worries about economic prospects.

The results of a recent survey into 146 businesses showed that most businesses are optimistic about the national economy-59 percent of businesses plan to recruit more workers while 38 percent will maintain their human resources and only 3 percent will reduce their workforce in the next 12 months.

49 percent of businesses plan to retain their investment in fixed assets while another 49 percent plan to increase it and only 3 percent will invest less.

Regarding faith in revenue growth, 75 percent of surveyed businesses believed that their revenue will increase, 24 percent thought that it will remain the same, while only 1 percent worried about a decrease in revenue.

The survey was conducted by the WVB Vietnam Financial Intelligence Services Company Limited and the Petrovietnam Investment Consultancy and Engineering Joint Stock Company from December 15, 2009 to early January 2010.
