People living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in Vietnam now have their own trans-provincial organisation aimed at eliminating discrimination against the sufferers and seeking financial resources for their community activities. From a core group named Bright Futures Hanoi, the model has spread to many provinces and cities in the country over the past two years.

With the desire to connect PLWHAs in different localities in a self-reliant and united organisation, the Bright Futures Network has been established with 13 local groups in Hanoi and seven northern provinces, and nearly 600 members.

The Bright Futures Network's activities will focus on fostering access to HIV/AIDS treatment, eliminating discrimination and sharing information, as well as seeking foreign and domestic financial assistance for people living with HIV/AIDS.
