Vietnam Fatherland Front officials visit China

Representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC)’s chapter in Chongqing city discussed ways to further enhance cooperation between the two sides at their meeting on December 19.

The meeting in the Chinese city was part of the on-going working visit of the VFF Vice President and General Secretary Tran Thanh Man to China from December 19-23.

Man briefed the host on the Vietnamese front’s functions, saying that the VFF wishes to learn from experience of the CPPCC’s Chongqing chapter in anti-corruption and supervision work, especially in agriculture, urban development, environmental protection, and food safety, and experience in deploying movements to promote creativity in the community.

He also congratulated the Chinese city on its prominent socio-economic achievements in the first six months this year, adding that Vietnam opened a trade promotion office in Chongqing as it has great potential for tourism development, trade and service.

He called for more enterprises from the Chinese city to invest Vietnam, thus contributing to the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, the Chairman of the CPPCC’s Chongqing city chapter, Xu Jingye, highlighted the enhanced cooperation between Vietnamese ministries, sectors and localities with the city, and appreciated Vietnam’s stable economic growth in recent years.

Chongqing wants to boost links with Vietnamese localities in trade and investment, and exchange with Vietnam’s ministries and sectors in the coming time, he said.

The two sides focused on sharing experience in the fields of their common concern, contributing to strengthening cooperation between the VFF and the CPPCC in particular, and promoting Vietnam-China relations in general.

During their stay, VFF delegates made fact-finding tours in Chongqing. They left the locality for Beijing on December 21.
