80 students from five Vietnamese colleges, namely Medicine and Pharmacy, Transportation and Telecommunications, Polytechnic, and Natural Sciences will go to work in Laos on a voluntary basis from July 20 to August 15.
The volunteers will give medical check-ups and treatment to more than 1000 households and offer gifts to 100 poor households in the province of Champasak.
They will also provide consultancy advice on public health to over 2000 poor households in Attapu province, apart from giving medical check-ups and treatment. In addition, the volunteers will transfer agricultural techniques to the province, teach local youths computer skills, help build cultural post offices, and present education equipment to underprivileged pupils, and computers and Vietnamese books to Vietnamese residents in the province.
