US naval ship docks at Tien Sa Port

VOV.VN - US Navy fast-transport ship USNS Fall River (T-EPF-4) docked at Tien Sa Port in central Danang City on May 8 to kick off the Pacific Partnership 2017 (PP17).

USNS Fall River is the fourth Spearhead-class expeditionary fast transport, which is part of the United States Military Sealift Command.

It is more than 103m long and 28.5m wide. Its speed is around 80km per hour.

The ship has a flight deck for helicopter operations and a loading ramp that allows vehicles to quickly drive on and off the ship.

It has 312 crew, 104 of whom participate in PP17 

The hospital ship Khanh Hoa 01, or HQ561, of the Vietnam army medical corps, joins the PP17 together with the US, UK, Australia and Japan.





PP17 is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
