The World Economic Forum (WEF) has pushed Vietnam 7 places down in its networking readiness index rating.

According to the WEF's 2005-2006 global information technology (IT) report, the country was given an index of -0.47 points, thus dropping to 75^th place from 68^th in the 2004-2005 report.

Several other economies have surpassed Vietnam in IT application such as Argentina which improved from 76^th to 71^st, and Azerbaijan, previously unlisted, which now ranks 73^rd.
