The statement was made by Wang Gang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) at a reception for Trinh Dinh Dung, the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)’s politburo member and Secretary of the Vinh Phuc provincial Party Committee in Beijing on March 27.

Mr Wang expressed his delight at the fine development of the Vietnam-China relations while emphasising that consolidating the time-honoured friendship and cooperative relations between the two countries is a common aspiration of both sides, in line with their peoples’ fundamental interests.
