NA Chairman meets Vietnamese community in Italy

(VOV) - National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung on March 21 had a meeting with representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy and overseas Vietnamese community in Rome during his current visit to Italy.

He briefed them on the National Assembly’s recent approval of the Constitutional amendments, saying the new constitution will be enforced in 2014 to meet the country’s comprehensive renewal and international integration requirements.

Inquiring into the living conditions of Vietnamese nationals in Italy, Hung noted the State has introduced numerous policies to create favourable conditions for overseas Vietnamese, including those on visa exemptions.

The National Assembly has also adopted a resolution permitting Vietnamese overseas to buy a house in the country, to encourage them to return and contribute to the fatherland.

Hung spoke highly of the growing ties between Vietnam and Italy and asked Vietnamese people overseas to help strengthen the strategic comprehensive partnership between the two countries.

A representative of the Vietnamese community said Vietnamese nationals in Italy unite and provide mutual assistance to stabilize their lives and integrate well into local communities.
