The President of the Global Summit of Women, Irene Natividad, has affirmed that Vietnam, an emerging tiger of Asia with much prospects for the 21st century market, was chosen to host the 18th summit next year.

The president was addressing the closing ceremony of the three-day 17th summit in Berlin on June 16, which drew almost 1,000 representatives from 95 countries around the world.


As the host of the 2008 summit, Vice President Truong My Hoa stressed that the 17th summit’s success has created a benchmark in the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals on gender equality and advancement of women, particularly in economics and trade.


She said the news that the 18th Global Summit of Women will be held in Ho Chi Minh City is heartening the country’s women in general and businesswomen in particular.

Vice President Hoa and her entourage called on Munich city in Bavaria on June 17 and attended the Vietnam-Germany Business Forum within the framework of the delegation’s working visit to Germany.
