The European Commission's mission to Vietnam and the Vietnamese Student Association launched a writing contest in Hanoi on March 28 to mark "European Year" in Vietnam.
The event is part of the European Commission's activities to celebrate European Day (May 9) and European Year in Vietnam.
Contestants will choose from two essay themes: "Regional co-operation and integration: European Union and Southeast Asian experiences" or "Cultural diversification: European and Southeast Asian identification".
Vietnamese citizens under 30 years old, especially journalists, researchers, diplomats and students, are eligible for the contest, which will last through May 10.
Prizes will be awarded for 15 outstanding essays at the end of May.
