Business supports for Sandy storm victims in Cuba

(VOV) -A ceremony was held in Havana, Cuba on July 30 to present building materials and home decoration products worth US$150,000 from Vietnam’s Thai Binh Trade and Investment Company to the Sandy storm victims.

Four of the containers holding these things had been unloaded at Santiago de Cuba port on July 18.

The remaining shipment would reach the port on August 10.

Thai Binh Company Director Tran Thanh Tu expressed his deep sympathy for the people living in the eastern provinces of Cuba, especially Santiago de Cuba, who have suffered most from the tropical storm that hit the country in October last year causing 11 deaths and damaging hundreds of thousand of houses.

The total losses caused by Sandy storm to Cuba were estimated at US$88 million.
