Construction of Saigontech, an official branch of the US University of Houston, began in Ho Chi Minh City on June 14.

The campus will be built on an area of over 16,000 sq.m at the Quang Trung Software Park in accordance with international standards at a cost of VND107 billion.

The University of Houston, Texas's premier public metropolitan research and teaching institution, offers courses in a wide range of areas, including information technology (IT) training, IT application research, multimedia and business.

Saigontech is scheduled to be put into operation in one year.
