Da Lat sees rose prices soar as Valentine’s Day draws near

As the demand for roses to mark the special occasion in the domestic market has significantly risen, red roses are currently being traded at between VND5,500 and VND6,000 each.

A variety of rose species can mostly be found in Van Thanh flower village in Da Lat city. Due to the recent favourable weather conditions, roses at many gardens in the region are currently in full bloom, allowing gardeners to generate a high income. Apart from supplying flowers to HCM city, gardeners in Da Lat have also provided roses to the Cambodian market at competitive prices.

At present, the price of each rose branch is triple the regular price. Red roses in particular are fetching the highest price between VND5,500 and VND6,000 each.

A local resident from Da Lat city noted that the prices of other red flowers in the market have also increased remarkably in recent days. Since the second day of the Lunar New Year, farmers have been busy making preparations for Valentine’s Day, the 15^th day of the first lunar month, and the God of Wealth Day.
