Friends of Vietnam Network promotes UK-Vietnam relations

(VOV) - The Friends of Vietnam Network (FVN) organisation has effectively helped strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and the UK in all fields.

The statement was made by Ben Chapman, President of Friends of Vietnam Network, in his interview granted to a Vietnam News Agency reporter in London at the threshold of the New Year.

He spoke of the FVN as a “common house” to contribute to promoting bilateral relations when both nations are celebrating 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.

Chapman said since its establishment, the FVN has attracted many members of friendship associations, including the Vietnam-UK Friendship Association which is very active in dealing with Agent Orange/dioxin victims in Vietnam.

The FVN is committed to promoting the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the UK in various fields such as education, culture, trade and politics and will launch many cultural and trade events in the framework of its 2013 action plan.

Ben Chapman is known as former President of the UK-Vietnam Parliamentarians Group who signed an agreement to strengthen relations between the two legislative bodies in 2009 and has visited Vietnam four times.
