Japan’s Sumimoto group has proposed to build and exploit an international container port in Van Phong Economic Zone, central Khanh Hoa province. The project is estimated to cost US$200-250 million in the first phase.

Sumimoto also sought approval for a 2640-MW thermal power project with total capital of US$4 billion.

Meanwhile, authorities of central Binh Thuan and Binh Dinh provinces have submitted to the Government another two thermal power projects proposed by Bousteu group and China’s Yunnan power grid company with a total capacity of 700 MW.
