The Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) opened its 15th conference in Hanoi on Friday to check final preparations for the 10th National Party Congress to be held in Hanoi from April 18-25. The conference will consider and approve documents to be presented at the Congress.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh said the Politburo will give opinions on draft personnel plans for the Congress’s Presidium, Secretariat and Delegate Appraisal Board, which will be submitted to the congress.

Party leader Manh said after the 14th CPVCC conference ended more than half a month ago, the Political Bureau asked the Documentation Sub-committee and relevant agencies to gather opinions and adjust the draft political report to be delivered at the congress. It also asked the Personnel Sub-committee to prepare personnel plans for the Political Bureau and the Party Central Committee of the new tenure.

The Politburo instructed other relevant sub-committees and the CPVCC Office to finalise regulations and the working agenda of the congress. It also asked the Organisation Sub-committee to put final touches on preparations, including the organisation and logistical work for the event.

Party leader Nong Duc Manh asked CPVCC members to heighten their responsibilities promote the spirit of democracy during discussions and come up with correct decisions on the preparatory work to ensure the success of the congress.
