The US will use part of the US$3 million, approved by the US Congress in 2007 for Agent Orange/dioxin treatment and medical activities in Vietnam, to help the disabled in central Da Nang city and surrounding areas, announced the US embassy in Hanoi.

The monies will be allocated to a number of short-term projects valued at around US$500,000 per year.

Since 1989, the US has provided US$43 million to help care for disabled Vietnamese./.
