Fourteen Vietnamese workers have been killed and four others injured in a fire at a clothing factory in Yegoryevsk town, 100km southeast of Moscow.

The fire broke out at 4.20pm on September 11 in a house on Paris Street, Egorevsk town and the dead bodies were found later in a 30sq.m room.

Russian media claimed that these were immigrants working illegally at the clothing factory.

The Vietnamese Embassy has sent its staff to the scene to inquire about the cause of the fire.
