Vietnam seeks Netherlands’ assistance in agriculture

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong held a working session with visiting Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Netherlands Marjolijn Sonnema on March 22 to discuss agriculture cooperation opportunities between the two countries.

The minister noted that it was a good decision of Vietnam when the two countries became strategic economic development partners in 2014.

He said the selection of food and nutrition security as the focus of bilateral cooperation is in line with the aspiration and suits the potentials and strength of both countries.

He hailed the development of agriculture in the Netherlands, which is only as big as the Mekong Delta with a total area of 4 million sq.km but has become a major agriculture products exporter.

At the event, Chairwoman of TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company Thai Huong expressed her hope that Deputy Minister Marjolijn Sonnema will introduce potential partners to the TH group.

For her part, Marjolijn Sonnema pledged to help firms of the two countries meet to boost cooperation ties.
