Construction of a housing complex, a joint venture between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea, started in Ho Chi Minh city on September 8.

The Cantavil house complex is being built by the Daewon-Thu Duc House Development Joint Stock Company on a site of 11,200 sq. m in the city’s eastern An Phu ward in District 2 with a total investment of US$47 million.

The complex includes 200 top-end flats and offices for rent which will be located in two 36-storey towers, an international trade centre, a recreational area, cinema and a swimming pool.

The complex is the second phase of the Cantavil-Premier project. In the first phase, 390 high-end flats were erected in An Phu ward.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chun Young Woo, President of the Daewon Group, said that the project is expected to be completed by 2012 and his company will make every effort to ensure the building is completed on time.

The Daewon Group is working with various other Vietnamese partners to deploy a series of housing development projects in Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi and Da Nang.
