E-sports players hack away the field

Vietnamese e-sports players competed outstandingly in the World Cyber Games 2012 in China, considered the equivalent of the Olympics Games for e-sports athletes.

They brought home one silver medal in the Cross Fire event and ranked fourth in the World of Tanks (WoT) event.

“It is the first time Vietnam’s e-sports has achieved such outstanding results in such a big event. This illustrates the development of Vietnam’s sports in general and e-sports in particular,” said Vu Trong Loi, head of Department of Sports for All of the National Sports Administration.

The five-day event attracted more than 800 athletes from 78 countries and territories.
