69 athletes from Hanoi, HCM City, Ha Tay, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh and Hung Yen will compete in 12 single and team events with the foil, epee, and sabre.

Athletes participating in single events will undergo both group and knock-out competitions, while teams will participate in knock-out matches only.

Organizers said that each locality is allowed to enrol a maximum of 24 players; each player can register for various events and each team includes three official athletes and one reserve player.

The National Sports Committee will give awards to outstanding competitors at the tournament.
