At the working session, OVF President Hoang Van Dieu briefed the VFF delegation on the achievements by the overseas Vietnamese community in recent years. He said many Vietnamese businesspeople not only enriched themselves but also generated jobs to help their compatriots to stabilize their lives and alleviate poverty in Laos.

Mr. Dam praised the community for their efforts to unite and develop the society. He encouraged them to teach the Vietnamese language to their children and follow Laos’ laws and policies to strengthen the traditional friendly relations between the two countries.

The Vietnamese delegation also met with Chairman of the Laos National Assembly Pany Yathotu and General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and State President, Chumaly Saynhason.
