The General Auditor of Vietnam, Vuong Dinh Hue, and the President of Saudi Arabia’s General Auditing Bureau (GAB), Osama Jafar Faqueeh, met in Hanoi on July 30 to review the achievements of their organizations and set out orientations for future development.

This is within the framework of the 42nd meeting of the Governing Board of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institution (ASOSAI) to be held in Vietnam on August 4-5.

At the meeting, the Audit of Vietnam informed the GAB of its development strategy toward 2020, which was recently approved by the National Assembly’s Standing Committee.

That strategy is now being implemented with assistance from international organizations like GTZ, DFID and ACCA.

The GAB president said he was impressed by the Audit of Vietnam’s achievements and growth over the past 16 years in comparison with other well-established audit agencies around the globe.

The two sides agreed to cooperate and support each other within the framework of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI). ASOSAI will support Vietnam in hosting the 12th Assembly of ASOSAI in 2015.
