Russian tourists to Binh Thuan forecast to plummet in 2015

(VOV) -Russia’s economic downturn and the ruble’s dramatic slide have coincided with a significant drop in the number of Russian tourists heading for Binh Thuan south central province.

How to attract international visitors from other markets to offset the shortage of Russian in 2015 is an urgent problem that Binh Thuan province has to solve this time.

Binh Thuan province has recently been an attractive destination for international travellers. In the peak season, luxurious resorts in the locality are almost fully booked.

However, according to Binh Thuan Tourism Association, in 2015, the local tourism industry will face a number of difficulties. Since January, the number of Russian visitors to Binh Thuan province has seen a sharp decrease.

Director of Po Sha Nu Resort in Phan Thiet city Tran Viet Ha said that to cope with the decline in Russian tourists, the company will focus on attracting travellers from Western and Northern Europe, as well as Asian and ASEAN member countries.

The most effective solution is to improve the quality of services, he added.

According to President of Binh Thuan Tourism Association Nguyen Van Khoa, this year, the association will implement a wide range of tourism promotion activities including participating in a number of international tourism fairs in Eastern and Western Europe, Southeast Asia and China to popularise the image of Mui Ne-Phan Thiet’s destinations in Binh Thuan.

Moreover, the association will further boost cooperation with travel agents and enterprises to attract more international visitors to the province.
