“This is an important political event for Thai people”, Nguyen Phuong Nga said at a regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on July 7. 

As a neighbouring country with friendly ties with Thailand, Vietnam always hopes for stability and development in Thailand in the interest of Thai people as well as for peace, stability and cooperation in the region and the world, Nga said.

At a press conference, reporters raised a question about “The Age” of Australia’s recent reporting of the case of Securency and Note Printing Australia, mentioning the involvement of a number of Vietnamese officials.

Ms Nga said Vietnam was informed about the Australian side’s arrest of six Australian citizens for allegedly giving bribery to win banknote supply contracts in some countries.

She affirmed that Vietnam is willing to work with Australia in investigating the case to make it clear and handle it within the law.
