April saw an additional 1.75 million telephone subscribers in Vietnam, a surge of 66.6 percent over March, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

As a result, the total number of subscribers reached 32.5 million, equivalent to 38 telephones for every 100 people.

The number of mobile phone subscribers represented 71.4 percent.

Vietnam is expected to have 38 million telephone subscribers by the end of the year.
