German club Schalke 04 has asked for a friendly match with the Vietnam football team after club president Gerhard Rehberg sent an invitation to chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Nguyen Trong Hy.

Schalke 04 is currently seeking markets and promoting its influence in Asia, which has a large number of football fans. It is currently ranked fourth in the Bundesliga Tournament.

According to Doctor G.Bun of Schalke 04, during a recent working session with the VFF, president Rehberg expressed his wish to co-operate with Vietnam’s football sector in the future.

Mr Hy said in the near future the VFF and Schalke 04 will discuss a time for the friendly match, which will provide a good chance for Vietnamese players to gain experience.
