Exhibition on Japanese sushi to come to Bac Giang
VOV.VN - The Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam is set to present an exhibition on Japanese sushi on May 24 in the northern province of Bac Giang’s museum, aiming to promote Japanese history and culture to both locals and tourists.
As many as 50 items under five themes, including an introduction about sushi, sushi in the Edo period from 1603 to 1868, modern sushi culture, sushi experience, and sushi in the world will be present to the public at the function.
Visitors will have opportunities to experience wearing Happi clothes which are Japanese costumes during the festival, learning to write in Japanese and sing in Japanese, as well as making Origami paper.
The exhibition includes a simulation of a visit to a sushi shop in Japan. People who know little about sushi will be able to greatly enjoy getting acquainted with the cuisine on offer at the event.
Back in 2013 UNESCO inscribed washoku, Japanese cuisine, on its Intangible Cultural Heritage list, with sushi being the archetypal example. Sushi is a refined and healthy food that looks good and tastes delicious, meaning it has already become a familiar item on menus worldwide.
Sushi has now spread outside of the East Asian nation’s borders and is typically enjoyed by people all around the world.
This function aims to provide an in-depth visual guide to the appeal of sushi. Indeed, it includes the chance to learn about how Japan took in sushi in its original form; as well as how it modified sushi to suit the natural environment, culture, and lifestyles of individual areas worldwide.
