Mr Triet praised the visit by former King Norodom Sihanouk, King Norodom Sihamoni and his wife, saying this visit demonstrates the time-honoured friendship and fine cooperation between the two countries.

King Norodom Sihamoni expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese people and leaders for their fine sentiment and huge support to the people of Cambodia in the past and current process of national construction and defense.

He said he would do his best to consolidate and develop the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.

The two leaders believed that their friendly relations and cooperation will continue to develop to a higher plane for the prosperity of each nation, and for peace, friendship, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
