Australian FM meets with Da Nang lifeguards

VOV.VN - Australian Foreign Minister Julia Bishop observed a lifesaving drill to rescue children from drowning at Da Nang beach on November 8 as she visits Vietnam to attend APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in the central city of Da Nang.

Julia Bishop posed for a photo with members of the rescue team and swimming clubs in Da Nang and Hoi An.

She talked with volunteers and local representatives.

The FM spoke to the beach rescue team.

Bishop said Australia have professional lifeguard teams who save many people’s lives.

She was very happy to talk with lifeguards and members of Mipper An Bang Swimming Club.

Bishop blew the whistle to start the rescue drill.

The rescue kicks off with a sprint to the sea.

Members of lifeguards clubs were interested in taking part in discussions with the Australian FM.

Swimming lessons and beach rescues are part of activities funded by the Australian Government. The two training procedures have been practised in Da Nang and Hoi An for many years.
