OV representative in Russia to visit Truong Sa

(VOV) - An overseas Vietnamese representative in Russia has been granted a visit to Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago in early May 2013.

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs cum Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (SCOVA) Nguyen Thanh Son durinig a recent working visit to Russia.

Vo Hoai Nam was chosen as an OV representative to take part in the trip.

On behalf of the OV community in Russia, Nam presented US$2,000, along with essential supplies and medicine to the Fund for Soldiers and People on Spratly Island.

The Vietnamese Association in Voronhej, Russia, also donated US$3,000 to the Fund to Build Schools on Spratly Island.

The OV community in Russia’s activities demonstrate their feelings for the soldiers and people of Spratly Island and support SCOVA programmes.
