International organisations on April 25 pledged to assist Vietnam in educational development, with a focus on underprivileged pupils.

The organisations, including ActionAid, Child Fund, Oxfam UK, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), made the commitments at a meeting in response to the “Global Action Week for Education,” which has been launched in Hanoi.

International organisations in collaboration with the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training will provide disabled and poor children with opportunities to develop their talent and integrate into the community. They will also provide them with free medical examination and treatment.

Besides, the organisations will help Vietnam train its teaching staff and increase educational management capacity, as well as upgrade school infrastructure.
