Tet gifts for Vietnamese in Cambodia

(VOV) - Two major Vietnamese firms operating in Cambodia on February 7 presented gifts to people of Vietnamese origin residing in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, marking the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

Metfone Company, part of the military-run telecom group Viettel, donated 100 Tet gifts worth US$3,000 to Vietnamese expatriates in Phnom Penh.

The company also helps disadvantaged Vietnamese by generating employment opportunities and providing relief aid to victims of national disasters.

The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), in cooperation with the Vietnamese General Consulate in Battambang province, delivered 1,000 Tet gifts with a total value of US$10,000 to Vietnamese nationals in Siem Reap province.

Over the years, many Vietnamese businesses have also supported Cambodians in building schools and health centres, as well as providing medical check-ups for locals.
