Danish Ambassador hails Vietnam’s preparations for IPU-132
(VOV) - Danish Ambassador John Nielsen has expressed his hope that Vietnam’s thorough preparations for the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly (IPU-132) would help promote the capital city’s traditional beauty.
IPU-132 is one of the biggest international conferences Vietnam has hosted with a focus on how to make greater contributions to turning sustainable development goals (SDGs) into action towards sustainable poverty reduction in the next 15 years.
The Danish diplomat said he hopes through the major parliamentary event, parliaments across the globe will be more responsible for carrying out SDGs.
Denmark has always prioritized climate change that is included in one of the SDGs between governments. The environment, climate change and green growth have been the focus of Denmark’s ODA for Vietnam over recent years.
The 132-IPU event will make practical contributions to parliaments’ joint efforts to cope with climate change and optimize the effective use of energy, John Nielsen said.
