The festival, divided into four display areas with books on culture, knowledge and national sovereignty, and favourite books, is being staged in the streets of Mac Thi Buoi, Nguyen Hue, and Ngo Duc Ke in district 1.
Readers have the chance to explore differing viewpoints on the love and pride of Vietnamese for the nation’s sea and islands through great thinkers’ books from seven publishers participating in the event.
Together with the annual Nguyen Hue Street Flower Festival kicking off the same day, the Book Street Festival 2014 is part of cultural activities celebrating the Lunar New Year festival.
