Local businesses expect to gain experience in information technology, mechanical engineering and other industries from nine German giants through a business forum held in Hanoi on May 8.

The forum was part of a week-long visit from May 7 by a business delegation from the Baden-Wurttemberg State of Germany.

Local businesses said they are looking for investment from Germany through this delegation with most of its members involved in export-oriented industries.

Baden Wurttemberg makes up 1.5 percent of the world's exports though it accounts for just 0.2 percent of the world's population, said Ralph Ohmayer, Head of the German Commercial and Scientific Cooperation Agency.
