Ho Chi Minh City welcomed nearly 189,000 foreign visitors in February, bringing the total number of foreign arrivals to the city in the first two months of this year to 428,000, a year-on-year increase of 22 percent.

American visitors topped the list, followed by those from Taiwan, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, Canada, France, Singapore and the UK.
The municipal tourism sector is expected to earn VND811 billion from services, representing an increase of 38.8 percent from a year ago.

The sector has co-operated with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to explore tours of the Mekong Delta region. In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City-Phnom Penh tour has progressed, attracting many enterprises to explore the tour. SAPACO Company decided to increase bus routes from HCM City to Phnom Penh and is preparing another route to Siem Reap. Meanwhile, the Voluntary Youth Company has launched caravan tours of Phnom Penh.
