Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received in Hanoi on October 9 the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) of China Ho Hau Wah who has been on a visit to Vietnam from October 8-12.

Welcoming the Macao guests who also include 70 Macao businesses, PM Dung said the visit would bring more opportunities for the development of cooperation between Vietnam and China.

Mr Dung expressed his wish that the two sides would work out effective measures to translate into reality agreements reached during the visit to boost their cooperation in economics, trade, investment, tourism, labour, culture and education.

The MSAR Chief Executive described bilateral cooperation in these fields as practical and feasible. He said Macao was ready to cooperate with Vietnam in these fields, as well as to consider other fields for future cooperation and would help Vietnamese businesses to access Portuguese-speaking markets.

Mr Wah asked PM Dung to convey his regards to people hit by Typhoon Xangsane in central Vietnam and said his administration decided to present them 500,000 Macao dolars.
