China’s Yunnan province holds potential for cooperation with Hanoi

China’s Yunnan province has a lot of potential to expand cooperation with Hanoi in various spheres, said Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan.

At a reception for Wang Shufen, deputy head of the Yunnan provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee in Hanoi on November 23, Tuan said Yunnan has a large area and dense population, while Hanoi has recorded outstanding development recently. 

Vietnam and China boast long-standing ties and close economic coordination, he said, adding that the two sides are major partners in many sectors. 

Tuan said through Wang’s visit, Yunnan will have more opportunities to work with Vietnamese cities and provinces in politics, economy, culture and tourism.
