Vietnamese overseas agencies care for Vietnamese citizens

The Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines has repatriated the body of a Vietnamese sailor who died of illness after being rescued from militant group Abu Sayyaf, according to the Consular Department under the Foreign Ministry.

Representatives of the Foreign Ministry, relevant bodies, and his relatives received the body of Truong in the Noi Bai International Airport on December 2.

Nguyen Huu Truong was one of the four crewmembers of the Giang Hai vessel, who were held hostage in Philippine waters last February by Islamist militant group Abu Sayyaf. The four were rescued in early November.

Meanwhile, the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei reported that a Vietnamese worker was injured during his work at a local company in Kaohsiung City, Taiwai (China) on December 2. Tran Van Son was taken to a local hospital for examination and later was discharged due to minor injuries.
