Australian Prime Minister John Howard has affirmed that Vietnam-Australia relations have been developing well, especially in the fields of economics and education.

PM Howard visited HCM City on November 20 after the closing of the 14th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Hanoi. During his working session with Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan, PM Howard said he was impressed by high economic growth in Vietnam, particularly in HCM City.


The Australian leader affirmed that Vietnam-Australia relations have been developing well, especially in the fields of economics and education and highlighted Vietnam’s success in organising the AELM.


He attended a graduation ceremony held for students from the international RMIT University and presented awards to talented students and outstanding teachers.

PM Howard left HCM City on November 21, concluding his visit to Vietnam.
