A photo contest has been launched in Hanoi on January 26 to raise public awareness, especially among young people and the press circle, of air pollution, impacts and solutions for the capital city.

The contest is co-organised by the Environment Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Swiss-Vietnamese Clean Air Programme (SVCAP).

The aim is to encourage people from all walks of life to participate more actively in protecting clean air in Hanoi, building a photo gallery on air quality, boosting activities to improve the Hanoi’s air quality and sharing experiences with other foreign partners in the field.

Speaking at the ceremony, Programme Manager of the SVCAP Michael Baechlin, emphasised that good air quality is one of factors in improving the quality of life. He also stressed the importance of public participation in the contest to help protect Hanoi’s air for the health of the community and future generations.

The organising board will receive entries from January 26 to March 26. The awards ceremony will take place in April.
