Exhibition highlights Guangdong culture

(VOV) - The venerable cultural and artistic traditions of China’s Guangdong province are on display at a Ho Chi Minh Museum exhibition opened in Hanoi on August 22.

More than 100 photos and documents narrate the province’s historical achievements in the arts, handicraft, architecture, and folk customs.

The exhibition devotes a special focus to Guangdong’s Guangzhou City, famous for its drama, music, dance, circuses, and calligraphy, as well as its sophisticated embroidery and ivory and wood carving traditions.

Guangdong City’s unique combination of Western and Eastern architectural styles are captured in photos of monasteries and pagodas built under the Ming and Qing dynasties.

The historic monuments sit side by side modern architectural accomplishments like the 103-storey TV tower and the International Finance Centre.

The event is co-organised by the Ho Chi Minh Museum and the Guangdong Revolutionary History Museum.
