Yamaha said it will increase its annual motorbike production capacity in Vietnam from the current 320,000 units to 700,000 by 2008.
The plan calls for an additional investment of US$43 million, bringing the company's total investment in Vietnam to US$123 million.
Yamaha said it would also increase local content in its products from the current 70 percent to 90 percent by 2008.
The company last year earned a turnover of US$300 million, up from US$250 million in 2004.
